BRIN’s Charity of Choice, Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB), continues to operate as an essential part of our healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic. Donating blood is a safe and simple way to support the health of our community, and only volunteer donors can provide the blood products patients rely on. Nearly 100% of the blood donated with NCBB stays right here in Nebraska.
NCBB has implemented additional safety measures to keep donors and staff safe, including social distancing and restricted access at donor centers, making appointments mandatory to help maintain distancing, and additional screening measures for donors and staff. As always, donors must be free from any cold or flu-like symptoms for at least 72 hours to be eligible to give.
Please consider making an appointment to give blood or platelets. Contact Nebraska Community Blood Bank to schedule and to learn more about how we keep donors and staff safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic: NCBB.ORG, 1-877-986-9414.
